In this lab, copper was plated onto nickel. A copper wire was wrapped around a nickel. The nickel and copper wire was placed into an electrode. Energy was transferred from a 9V battery to the copper. After about ten minutes. the nickel (originally silver colored) turned into an orange, copper color. The battery turned really hot, which shows the energy transfer from the battery to the electrode which changed the color of the nickel. This lab demonstrated oxidation-reduction because there was a transfer of electrons. Electrons was transferred into the electrode which in turn change the color of the nickel.
